1. Who we are

Unbroken Line is a business name of Patrick Fox, a sole trader.

  • Address: 34 Beech Hill Crescent, Donnybrook, Dublin 4, D04 E7R2, Ireland
  • Phone: +353 87 786 3229
  • Email: hello@unbrokenline.ie

“We” means Patrick Fox, trading as Unbroken Line.

2. What we offer

  • The free check: an online tool that compares the details you type from your certificates. It lists what to fix, explain or order. It runs in your browser and gives general information only.
  • The $49 pre‑submission check: a person checks scans of your certificates against the Department of Foreign Affairs’ document list and our name and date rules, then emails you a written report.

Both are for people applying for Irish citizenship through the Foreign Births Register, through a grandparent born on the island of Ireland.

3. What we don’t do

We’re independent and not connected to the Department of Foreign Affairs or the Irish Government. We don’t give legal advice. We don’t check that documents are genuine, or check your witness, photographs or fee. We can’t speed up an application. Only the Department decides whether it’s approved.

4. Ordering the $49 check

  • You must be 18 or over. If the application is for your child, you can order as their parent or guardian.
  • The price is $49, and we add no other charges. Your card provider may charge you for paying in US dollars.
  • You pay by card when you order, through Stripe.
  • The contract starts when we email you to confirm your order.

5. Your documents

You confirm that:

  • the documents are copies of real records, complete and readable;
  • you’re entitled to share any relatives’ details in them for this check;
  • what you tell us is accurate.

If a document is missing or unreadable, we’ll ask you for it. The 3 working days start again when it arrives.

6. When you’ll get your report

Within 3 working days of receiving all your documents. Working days are Monday to Friday, except Irish public holidays. We email the report as a PDF, and answer follow-up questions about it by email for 14 days.

7. Your right to cancel

You can cancel within 14 days of the day we confirm your order, without giving a reason.

  • To cancel, email hello@unbrokenline.ie or use the cancellation form below.
  • If you cancel before we start the check, you get a full refund.
  • When you order, you ask us to start straight away. You also confirm that you lose the right to cancel once we deliver the report. If you cancel after we’ve started but before the report, you pay only for the work done so far.
  • We refund within 14 days, to the card you paid with.

8. If something goes wrong

  • Late report: if we don’t send it within 3 working days, we refund you in full.
  • Our standard: we carry out every check with reasonable care and skill. If we don’t, consumer law entitles you to have it redone free, a price reduction or a refund.
  • Our limits: we aren’t responsible for the Department’s decisions or timing, for documents you didn’t send us, or for losses we couldn’t reasonably have foreseen when you ordered.

Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

9. Complaints

Email hello@unbrokenline.ie. We’ll acknowledge it within 2 working days and reply in full within 10 working days.

If you’re not satisfied, the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission explains your rights at ccpc.ie. If you live elsewhere in the EU, the European Consumer Centre in your country can help with a cross-border complaint.

10. Your report

It’s for you and your family. You can share it with a solicitor or the Department.

11. Privacy

Our privacy notice explains how we use personal data.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. Changes don’t affect orders already placed.

13. Law

Irish law applies. If you live in the EU, you keep the protection of your own country’s consumer laws.
